Interstate Plastics Appoints Larry Chavez Chief Financial Officer

Interstate Plastics has announced the appointment of Larry Chavez as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective Aug. 19.

Chavez most recently served as Director of Finance and Operations at Valley Rubber & Gasket Company Inc., a Sacramento-based fabricating distributor of conveyor belting, hose and sealing products. During Chavez’s 14-year tenure with Valley Rubber & Gasket, the organization expanded to eight locations in four states.

In a formal company-wide announcement regarding the organizational change, Cole Klokkevold, Interstate Plastics CEO, wrote: “Larry is skilled in multi-location distribution and has a great deal of experience with the value-added component that we continue to expand upon within the market. I am certain that as he learns our company and industry, he will be able to add valuable insights that allow us to maximize gross profit and minimize expenses in our ongoing push for operational excellence.”

Regarding his vision for Interstate Plastics’ future, Chavez stressed, “I hope to bring some best practices to the financial structure of the company. I’m a strong believer in manageable, profitable growth … it's essential.”
